How have I managed to avoid this core component of a machinists’ repertoire for so long? The time has come… for gears. But I like making tools a lot more than I like making not tools. So before I can make any gear, naturally, I need to make the gear cutter. Which requires making a few other tools, too. So many tools, in fact, that it will take me two videos to finish this project. And maybe by the end of this adventure I will properly be able to say “Eureka!”.
